It has been quite a while since I've posted anything new to the Forum on the new layout I have been working on, the Lake Laurel & Hardyville 2, for the past 3 years now. Here are some shots taken in the past few months with my iPhone. The small camera allows for some neat on-the-ground angles.

Much of my recent work has been focused on the completing the scenery around the locomotive yard.

There is a Train Wizard that produced videos and posted them on YouTube. I have watched them several times because the camera is mounted on the front of the locomotive as the train runs around the layout. I think that is a pretty neat prospective. Is that you? Also the locomotive # 2679, is that a custom paint job? I don't recognize it right off.

Yes, I am Train Wizard Productions on YouTube.

The 2679 is a MTH Premier Line Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway GP-35. It was was one of two units painted in red and yellow. The other being 2662. When the current Wheeling & Lake Erie was formed they experimented with new paint schemes with these two units. They were nicknamed, "Painted Ladies," and the "Kodak Units." While the W&LE ended up adopting a Rio Grande inspired black and orange scheme these two were kept around for passenger specials. 2679 has since been repainted/rebuilt and 2662 remains red and yellow.

Really nice layout. Can you post some more info. ie... layout size, track plan or build photos

Thanks! First, the bottom table is 8x16 feet and the upper level is 5x11 feet. I went with Fastrack because it was readily available and to be friendly to my Lionel Legacy Vision Line Big Boy. Benchwork is birch plywood with 2 inch styrofoam base.

Bottom Outer Loop - O84 Curves

Bottom Inner Loop - O72 Curves

Upper Outer Loop - O60 Curves

Upper Inner Loop - O48 Curves

Power & Control - 1 MTH Z-4000, 1 Lionel 180W PowerHouse, MTH DCS & Lionel Legacy Control System (Both Wifi enabled)

I used RailModeler Pro to create the track plan. Red sections mark my power blocks.

I see you have put some hardy work into that, while not resting on your laurels.

Is there a Charlie Hall among your buildings?  Or a Jimmy Finlayson siding?

Doh!

He's a regular Jimmy Finlay(out)son!  (I hope you saw the movie "Stan and Ollie." There are some nice shots of a British steamer taking the boys from show to show. It's now available on DVD/Blu ray.)
