I have a really old version of DCS.

I have read on this forum that version 5 has a "recover engine" feature.

is that what I need to resolve the following:

unable to "add" an engine that had been in my system for seral years. It was not performing correctly and I finally wound up deleting it and then trying to add it back. I have not been able to add it back.

I have deleted and added other engines, just to see if I could, and I was able to add those engines.

It is just one particular engine that will not add.

Jeff,

unable to "add" an engine that had been in my system for seral years. It was not performing correctly and I finally wound up deleting it and then trying to add it back. I have not been able to add it back.

That engine is a candidate for the Recover Engine function, which was introduced in DCS 4.20.

This and a whole lot more is all in MTH’s “The DCS Companion 3rd Edition", available for purchase  from many fine OGR advertisers and forum sponsors, or as an eBook or a printed book at MTH's web store!

Did you try adding it back on a programming track with no other engines receiving power anywhere. Depending how much stuff is in the remote is a remote reset possible? everything will be deleted and give you a fresh start and eliminate any id conflicts. Do you have  any lash-ups? If the engine has the same ID as a lash up it won't add.

If a no go try the recover engine feature but you'll have to upgrade the software....
