This just started. Trains ran sunday, nothing worked yesterday. Dont recall any hard bumps or bangs. The remote was giving the "OUT OF RF RANGE" error despite being a foot from the TIU, and I couldnt do anything.

I know the following:

The TIU puts out the watchdog signal. It is also able to load soundfiles into an engine

The remote turns on.

I opened both the TIU and the remote to verify the radio boards are seated.

I tethered them with a phone cord, and still get "TIU 1 not found" with the read button.

I have tried to reset the remote, as well as the TIU, although I dont know if the TIU was reset because there's apparently no communication. Can the TIU be reset via the DCS loader on a computer?

At this point I'm figuring something is blown. A friend is bringing me a spare set to trouble shoot both halves later, but in the mean time, is there anything else I can try to get the communication link established? The lack of tether function makes me think something is actually broken, but maybe I'm missing something?
