While running a15 car freight with a DCS engine, cab lights dimmed slowly and train stopped. Transformer (Z 4000) shorted out. Took all cars off track, still shorted out. I was using a Rev L TIU on Fixed input 2. Disconnected from input 2 to Fixed input 1. Powered up OK, except the DCS engine started right up but I could not bring it up on my iPad. Tried several DCS engines and all started up on their own.
Is their a separate fuse for each input?

Anyone have any thoughts?

Worth inspecting to make sure terminals where not loose too.  Any signs of heating or melting of case or barrel terminals?  If fixed channels most likely TVS as mentioned.  If using Var could be TVS or the power FETs.   So if you power up via aux power no channels have a DCS signal?  Engines start up right away.  G
