Would someone mind sharing with me a updated list of Lew Cross Right O Way turnout components with prices.  I want to call out to Lew, to make an order, but not blindly.

Looking for Code 125, # 5 or #6 turnout stuff

.  Can either post here or email me direct at: pierce2532@sbcglobal.net

Thanks in advance

Lou Cross is in his 80's He is not about to create a website for the very few who seem incapable/unwilling of simply calling him and placing an order. He is a first class gentleman who supplies first rate supplies, and will ship them to you with a bill which you then pay by return mail...this is old fashion business. God Bless him!

Bob

Not only is Lou the gentleman's gentleman he will patiently work through the different pieces and their application with you.

Remember your best experience in ordering stuff prior to the internet?  Lou will up that bar.

You may want to cansider to go back and edit your email with an (at) and (dot) substitute.  Lots of nasty people scaning out there.

Let see. I never heard of Lou and his products. So I google to see what is out there.(no website). Now explain to me how I am to call him for a order when I did not know he existed and information online to contact him. Something sound pretty silly/mixed up here. How are others to learn about products if they don't know they exist and can't contact him?

Lou DOES want your business...as any owner would.  The fact is, you NOW know who he is.  He is a great guy with great stuff.  If you need some rail castings or many other products, send him a letter or call him.  Many of us have his catalog.  The way he wants to do business is greatly outweighed by his products.   Well worth the minimal extra effort

Some guys get touchy about Lou, and a greatly respect that.  O scale has a few guys like him.  Better get used to it.  You wont regret the great finds you will make when you do!

I had never heard of Lou until I came hear and started reading about him in peoples posts. I came from the 3 rail side and now 2 rail oscale has been advanced to me by reading about him and his products here and on other forums as well. His name, company name and info have been posted here more times then I can count.....Why not ask here or do a search on the forum?  You have to understand that Lou gets plenty of business through word of mouth and I am sure he is quite happy with that.  I would just also have to ask a question....if he has no website with all his info on it, how did all of us learn of him? Bottom line is now you are aware of him.  Give him a call...he is a very nice man with great stuff.

I would like to add my endorsement of Lou Cross, a fine gentleman. I do not know of any other O scale provider who will send out his products with an invoice. I had a hobby shop in Laurel MS that used to do that but unfortunately he is deceased. He still does business the old fashioned way and to tell the truth that is kinda refreshing for a fellow "old fart" like me.

Finding him is easy on this forum. There are numerous threads to refer to him and his products.

BTW, love his stuff and it makes for some great fun and train running.Malcolm

Thanks fellows for the address and Phone #. No I did not know he existed. This is what I find fustrating is finding what and who is out there. ( Why the secrets?) As stated last fall, I just got into O scale.  I like the size of O scale though I believe S scale is the perfect scale had there been more available. Better to go bigger I quess.

Brasman" Great additiude to get new people into the hobby or to run them off?. I am supprised the moderates let you......

Thanks again fellows, much appreciated!

nm2124,

I'll post some photos later this week. I'll have a website someday, but I have other things I'd rather do now. I spend all day on the computer now as it is.

Bob: As Forest Gump said "Stupid is as stupid does".

Now Bob, you would know I would have a retail website, if I were in business to sell  products! Wouldn't You? So just stop antagonizing this thread. Problem solved when the posters above posted the Address and Phone # for Lou's business and I was fine with that. Yes I still believe business people should have a website to get there products out there in this MODERN DAY of AGE! By the way, did you know you are using the internet right now?

PS: Bob I have some great ideas, but you probably wouldn't want to be in the way of "Pogress."

nw2124 yes most retailers have websites, but for a man that doesn't have one there are sure a heck of a lot of us using his products.  A website is not necessary for him to sell his products, his being a gentleman and offering great products does the selling for him, along with word of mouth.  I would like to hear about this progress you are speaking of and as for this "In this modern day and age" let's see.  An age where people text instead of talk, email instead of write and video conference instead of face to face meetings.....hmmmm yeah that's progress in peoples lives alright...better living through impersonal relations....  But hey it's cost effective.....yippee.  I have dealt with plenty of companies that have websites that don't know there @!!# from ahole in the ground...websites are not the end all and be all of selling.  And I think what Bob was getting at is that you are being pretty critical of certain things and was asking you to share your ideas with us....so please share with us.  And yes, I do enjoy the internet for certain things, but when I can I shop in person.  That way if I have a question I can ask, or a concern I can express it....to a person and not a keyboard.

I have known Lou for about a quarter century. He is in fact one of the nicest guys I have ever met.  I do not buy much, since all I have is a bunch of test loops, but his products are superb.  He is not required to advertise at all - we are a free market society, and that means one can sell or not, using any technique or none.

Lou got me my first two CLW PA castings.  These things are a big part of my hobby experience.

Mr. Cross is an elderly gentleman who handles his business the best way for HIMSELF. He uses what are now considered 'old fashioned' methods such as mail, telephone and personal contact.  Oh yes, occasional magazine ads and attendance at some train meets too.  Actually, that was how most model railroad business was done before the internet age. Many of us now super-annuated modelers well know how to to work with it.

Consider that doing business this way could be what enables Mr. Cross to keep up with the demand he has and maintain high quality in his product.  Production could

otherwise grow beyond his capabilty to fulfill if advertised on the internet and its vastly added complexities of web sites, shopping carts, payment options, e-mail, fax numbers, etc.

For a person in his 8th decade of life, future expansion and being "modern and up to date" is likely not a big part of the picture. However maintaining productivity at a level he can enjoy handling and in providing fine quality is.

And when Mr. Cross has his seat check lifted by The Great Conductor (something we all face), what becomes then of his desired track products?

Gentlemen,

I wrote a post yesterday defending Lou and offering my opinion towards this person NW2124. I pulled my post because I thought I went a little too far with it. I was wrong. I find this person to be offensive and cowardly. He makes insinuating remarks behind the safety of his screen and then doesn't have the gonads to say who he is. It should be policy to post your full name along with your post so you do not have immunity from insulting actions.

There was a person that belonged to this group that used several names to hide behind so he wouldn't have to answer for his actions. This person was dropped several times, only to reappear again and again. It is sounding very familiar once again.

If you have anything worth listening to, then please feel free to write about your extensive experience and better this group as a whole. If the only thing you can do is complain and whine, then please just go away and leave everyone happy that you chose to do so. This forum will be a better place for it.

And if you do choose to write the group, please use spell check. I am having a difficult time dumbing down to your level of vocal butchery.
