I have a Ross O54-O31 curved switch that I just installed.  When I try to run my Legacy 0-8-0 with the turnout switched to the O31 the 0-8-0 goes over the point.  The switcher is rated for O31 curves.   Any easy fix for this or should I try to switch it out too a O72/O54 switch?

I really do not want to modify the switch in case I need to sell it but if I have to grind a bit of the point to fix this I will try it.

Also watch the mounting. The entire turnout and a good portion of the tracks connected to it must be in the same plane. If the turnout is twisted, you'll get derailment problems, even with 3-rail flanges.

Absolutely correct, most of the derailment problems with switches is caused by this. does your switcher derail on 031 regular curved track? if not then I think even a larger diameter switch will give the same result if it is not flat as described by Matt.

I have never tried it on regular O31 track as I do not have any.  It does climb the points once in awhile on my O36 Fastrack switches.  My Mikado has no issues going though this switch though.  I have a feeling the wheel base is just too ridged for O31.
