The ads for the new batteries, like on the 8220, say the batteries will hold a charge much longer than the old ones. Wonder how true that is.
For the past three years, I've used (and used well) the Dremel 4000, corded. Excellent tool.
Prior to the 4000, I've used a couple of other Dremel (corded) tools over the years. Each one better than the last.
I currently also use a Dremel PawControl Dog Nail Grinder and Trimmer. It's cordless, thank goodness. The Pugs love it (NOT!).
@Craftech posted:How can you tell? They have all new models now when I looked at their website. Are flexshaft fakes a thing now?
I just went down and dug it out. It says VIGOR MO 199H made in Bethel Ct. Came with a foredom tool set. I think I bought it at Myron Toback in the NYC jewelry district. VIGOR is now a division of Grobet, USA

You can tell because their are DOZENS OF ADS using the same photos from different sellers. They make up a mythical company and put USA on the end of the name is one give away. Also dozens of chinese sellers have a USA warehouse and many use that same waving flag in the shape of the USA. That just means the item is being shipped from a location in the US. They are knock-offs. I admit to owning some chinese tools but when they hang a US flag or
"ACME USA "name on the product it makes my blood boil. j

I have the 4000, and it's a great tool, the one feature I really like is it has "cruise control". It actually controls the speed under varying loads, that's a real plus.
