sd70 now buzzing

Sounds like a possible audio failure.  I would not power it up any more until checked out.  What model # is this?  G

Jack,  That is the model number.  This is a PS-2 3V so it is possible it can be repaired at the component level.  Could be a bad speaker, or a pinched wire shorted audio amp, and the other possibility is a bad fan motor.  Was smoke on or off?   G

the smoke unit was on i added smoke fluid hit start up she did smoke  then i hit the horn it worked then the bell it started ringing then the buzzing sounded like it was from the speaker  it did have a little smell of brunt electric after i shut it down

I would suspect audio amp.  Needs to be checked out.  G

Let me add that George does fantastic work with these MTH electronics- he's done some repairs for me and I am totally pleased with his work and prices!!

Got Jack's Engine today and fixed it.  Audio amp bad, but this is the culprit, 3 fine strands of wire in the solder joint of the + speaker wire touching the frame of the speaker.   G

George, Your the man. Do you think MTH will ever maker a stronger audio amp that will not go bad as easy it seems like these go bad most of the time for most of the problems?

Wish I could be there to suck up some of the knowledge that you have, George.
