"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

I hate to start any kind of discussion that could go wrong. I am on the fence over my next scratch build in G scale. I have drawings of the ES44 and figured that would be my next attempt originally. I have the MTH Dash 8s and want to expand the modern power fleet! I still haven't finished my SD70ACe or the MP15AC. I just want to start something else while the weather is warm to utilize my outside shop power tools. It takes me a long time to build something!

I had planned to attempt a CR SD80MAC. I just got one in O scale too. It was suggested that I attempt several other locos. One that appealed to me is the AC6000 or even the AC4400. I narrowed that to the AC6000 really because I like the looks of the massive tail radiator section. I even came across a great picture of the top for helping with the building. I was so into the planning and research, I forgot about the Cadillac.

Worse of all is I had to redo my computer and lost all my research. I had a fantastic site about Conrail's full fleet.

So I guess I may do them both someday but I need to decide. I really can't so what would you build first???

I can't imagine building an engine myself, I wouldn't know where to start. But, since you have the ES44 drawings why was that one left off the list? I would need a lot more than drawings.

Between the SD80 and AC6000, personally I have sort of been wanting an AC6000 in O gauge for a while. I think I also like the big radiator. Couple of problems with mine however, I want it in BNSF livery and I spent my entire train budget an engine and a bunch of those nice new command control operating accessories that Lionel just came out with, so there will be a slight waiting period on that one. Oh, and I want to expand my layout too...

Can you post some pics of some of the locos you built? I would really like to see your work. I vote the AC6000, I too like that flared radiator at the back.

Boy, I'd love to. My computer wouldn't go online and had to be reset. so I need to re-load old pictures.... if they exist!
