"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

All,

Can someone point me to one or more computer control systems for HO trains with DCC?  I am specifically interested in:

  • Systems that can take input from sensors and locations
  • Start / stop trains
  • Interface with Arduino programmed processors and accessories

I need some pointing in the right direction.

Thanks,

George

Hi George,

You might want to take a look at this.  Inexpensive DCC control from your laptop with an Arduino and a cheap DCC decoder in the loco, open-source software is free.  (As I understand it, no other DCC hardware is needed.)

You might also want to take a look at "Train Controller" from Freiwald Software.  www.freiwald.com

I'm pretty sure this is the software that is used to operate the "Minatur Wonderland " layout in Hamburg Germany.

I am currently using this software to operate my O gauge layout with a program that translates the DCC commands to DCS commands.  The capabilities offered by this software are virtually endless and if I recall, you can download and use a demo copy.

I hope this is helpful.
