I would validate the product numbers and the consider selling them or running them- your choice but especially that Polar, there are people willing to pay for that.

maybe a slightly less desirable version, but given the sealed nature, might be worth throwing in the sale/trade group. It's coming up on the holidays and likely somebody would buy it. Just my opinion, but again, I searched for a long time myself and paid quite a bit for the engines I have and I'm quite sure I remember people posting wanted adds for anything Polar or Pere Marquette Legacy.
FYI, your profile, I could not PM you nor did I see your email? Just saying that matters and is needed to effectively sell in the sale or trade group. Be sure to read the policies.
thanks a bunch for your feed back what about the sets which set in your opionion is less desirable
Yeah, especially when you consider that the MSRP for the 6-11456 Pere Marquette Berkshire #1227 was $1,450.

@Alabama Joe has been looking for one of these forever. He's been posting a Wanted-to-Buy here about every three months.
Go to his profile page, get his email address, and send him an e-mail.

@mutz - I can't comment on the 'desirablity' factor because after all - Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder, but what I will say is that all of the following sets are 'top end' and equipped with Legacy which provides the Operator with all the bells & whistles. Having said that, to assist you somewhat here are Lionel's MSRP for each of the sets...
1. Pocohantas Legacy Set 6-29365 (released in 2012) MSRP $1,950
2. NYC Empire Legacy Set 6-82528 (released in 2015) MSRP $1,950
3. Neil Young Texas Special F3 Legacy Set 6-11194 (released in 2014) MSRP $1,110
Good Luck in whatever you decide to do!
