SF SD45 in WB color??

To my knowledge, the ATSF SD45's were never painted in the red/silver color schemes.

Nope, the SD45's were NEVER painted in the passenger red/yellow/black/silver warbonnet shceme.

 

The were delivered in the blue/yellow pinstripe scheme and later repainted into the yellow/blue freight warbonnet scheme.

Looks like they were big in the day with certain RRs and paint schemes. I even looked at CSX figuring they'd be rebuilt. Looks like a lot were just retired in the east.

 Looks like bigger numbers out west?

EMD never made any SD45 "B" units. Those were "home made" by AT&SF.

Were any painted into kodachrome?

Were the SD45 B units rebuilt from wrecked SD45's?

 Hmmm, maybe a future mod for me. I'll have to study to see the diff between these and SD40 B type.

If I am not mistaken the old F3Bs had minimal controls so a hostler could move the unit around the shops.  I wonder if these SD45Bs had something similar.
