What locomotive model is that, with the cab in the middle, Franktrain?
Zebras. Very under rated ATSF livery! Zebra derricks looked great also!

That's a Baldwin DT6-6-1000/2(SC), also referred to as a DT6-6-20.

You get double credit for that double-ender, franktratin. That photo was taken at San Bernardino, in the X-Yard, across the main line from the depot, where locals used to arrive and depart. The unit was used for a while in helper service on Cajon Pass, and Santa Fe even added a mini-dynamic brake which gave just enough resistance to control the speed of the engine coming back down the hill as a light engine. I may have worked with those two fellows when they were old and I was young, but it's impossible to make out facial features to recognize who they are.
Tom,
Thanks for the info on the Double-ender. Not sure where I found the photo but I have always liked that style.

I owned the Lionel Command Crane Car with zebra stripes. Pulled by my zebra striped GP7. Very cool looking! (I wish the boom car was also zebra stripe)
Anyway, my real trains contribution is the little guy ....

I saw the Newton derrick once in zebra. Then they painted it blue.
The boom tender was silver all the times I saw it connecting trains.
