Tom, that PRR cabin car was done by a company called The Brass Works.  It is identical (except for wheels and couplers) to a 2-rail car done by a company called The Car Works.  They might even be the same company.  Both companies are or were in New Jersey.  Anyway, The Brass Works did 3 road numbers of ND bobbers, 2 road numbers of N5b's and 2 road numbers of N5b's with Trainphone antennas.  All of these were 3-rail.

Thanks Robert! Nice to know!

Worth adding to this thread.  A Gem PRR F3 mogul brass screwdriver kit that was originally painted for GN but later repainted for PRR.  It has been updated with a modern era headlight and generator over the oil headlight from the factory model and also has a reverse light on the tender.  I need to verify that was remotely prototypical for PRR, but for now I like it just how it is sans a repaint of the boiler face to make it fully PRR.  While this class never had them, a Keystone number board would be kind of fun.

Factory model with oil headlight:

Modernized version by a previous modeler.  While the F3 was retired two decades prior to the era I primarily model for PRR, the updated headlight and generator give me a reason to bend the rules a bit and say a few of these perhaps lasted longer in my modeling world.

Interesting oddity in the GN painted boiler face.  I'm assuming this was originally painted for GN and then repainted into PRR.  GN was the other large road that adopted the Belpaire firebox, so this model could act as a stand in for a GN styled locomotive.

I like how the coal load is done on this tender.

Not perfect paint, but a nice little model that I can work on for future dual service like the prototype.

Finally got a full ABA set of Weaver BP20s. They weigh about 9lbs each! The swinging pilot looks ok. I do have the builders plate for this engine.

I really fell for these when they came out, but "wrong" RR, very long, very expensive. So I didn't. I could have lived with 2 of those strikes, but 3 and I'm out. These nice photos did give me a twinge of regret.

I too hope to see a video. Will there be weathering ultimately?

I’m not sure when I’ll get to them with all the other projects I have going. Right now I just unpacked them for a look over. Each one has a different EOB issue at the moment. I wasn’t buying much when these came out so I’m glad I got a chance to get them. I doubt you’ll ever see something like these in 3 rail ever again.

Correct RR, shorter than a Centepede, and a low show price because Weaver wanted to get rid of them.  Bought them thinking this was too good to pass up.  Well, it was.   As Weaver's demo set, they had lots of miles on them and several poor internal fixes.   Still don't have the B-unit working properly, but got the A working and it looks great pulling an express.

Williams PRR T1 Duplex.   I like this model with the portholess and exposed drivers the best. Have had the MTH prototype and the Lionel T1 but this version is the favorite. Being in brass is a bonus!

Here is a basket case one I purchased in 2007.  The previous owner claimed it worked when tested, but mysteriously enough I had to rewire the cable to the tender to get it to run.  It also needs a better spring on the lead truck as it tends to float when running.  I'd get to fixing it but since my PRR is mostly 2-rail now, I haven't gotten around to it.  Certainly, a great looking locomotive.  The other brass Williams locomotive behind it isn't too shabby either.  It took a spill off a club layout in 2010 and needs some different repairs.  Luckily nothing major.  Just some soldering to reattach some parts.

It weighs 9 pounds (bathroom scale), is non-powered, ancient, and domestic. Cast, not formed, brass. Note the thickness of the pilot from the bottom. It's a battering ram. This, if powered, would NOT need wimpy traction tires. Bought on a whim somewhere.

Definitely production - anyone know the brand?

Oh, boy - you see, I have an extra MTH RailKing Triplex "0-8-2" tender banging around, maybe a Williams brass 2-8-2, and I am aware of the Southern Duplexes, and have thought about doing a 3RO Hi-rail approximation of one of their 2-8-2 based Duplexes...I had almost forgotten it, and now these photos of your Duplex. Gee, thanx.

I would guess Adams & Son(S). I have an A&S E6, somewhat lighter as the sides are stamped steel , but still a heavy piece.

I hadn't checked this thread out in quite a while; I am glad the I decided to visit it this time. So many nice models!

Brass? Well, I guess that cast bronze is close enough! Here is one of at least three Baldwin Model Locomotive Works New Haven EP-3s that I have, this one done up for Denver & Inter Mountain????:

New Haven EP-3 as D&IM EP-3jpg

When I told a friend about it, he asked if it was for the D&IM  narrow gauge. Hmmm, now that would have been an interesting model!

And a New Haven:

PS: I apologize for the black wire around the body, it was there to keep the roof in place during shipping and I just plain forgot to remove it!

I also have several Alexander GG1s but no photos other than one from a Stouts Auction listing. so I probably should not post it.

Note that out of six almost identical prototype wheel arrangements, I have four different drive mechanisms. The benefits of DIY kit building!

Just finished a small and fairly quick project.

I found this 2RO 1960's Japanese brass auxiliary water tender, lettered for the Louisville & Nashville. Not expensive. As I grew up in Mobile, served by the L&N, and these water tenders were used on locomotives that came into town (such as their USRA-copy L-1 4-8-2's), I went for it as a future conversion, to go with my L&N Lionel USRA 4-8-2.

Still 2RO and banged up. The stripes and lettering are paint, not decals, and appear to be hand-applied - they are not "perfect", and definitely paint.

Now 3RO; original trucks, hi-rail wheel sets; painted chassis and touched-up shell.

The hi-rail Keil-Line type metal dummy couplers fit in the same pockets as the scale couplers.

I believe this is my first entry as my brass collection is slowly growing. As I have said in other posts GP20's are my all time favorite diesels. Here are a couple of models I'm very happy to have.  The first model is a built up Kemtron kit. It currently has a decoder with no sound but that will definitely be changing. The second one is an Oriental Limited unit. Eventually this will be transformed into a Conrail unit. It currently is straight DC and I haven't decided which decoder I'm going to install yet.
