Would someone know what "C.T." indicates when seen on some single sheathed boxcars next to the cars road number ?

I was told by a knowledgable historian that it refers to "Columbia Trust", which was the organization financing the build of a number of these cars.

Seeing your reply I Googled "Columbia Trust Boxcar", the result didn't offer much but it did confirm that Columbia Trust was in fact the organization financing the car builds so, thank you very much, you answered my question.
