A few months ago Steve E let me know that one of my tinplate cottages was made by a firm called Skyline. I was surprised to see an interlocking tower made by them on Ebay. To make a long story short I won it and it's on its way.

Is there a catalog existing for Skyline? Anyone know some of the company history?

The tower is also lighted. Another surprise.

I have the litho metal tower, station, and platform and prefer the first two over others such as Marx. Before the bay, they were common in shows.  I am slso familiar with the cardboard and wooden varieties, except I have occasionally seen the "Tank Town" in a cardboard version.  It always gets my attention, but cardboard does not interest me. I have never seen, or at least, recognized, plastic Skyline.

I like the look of the platforms, especially the yellow bases. The more color the better. They could go well with the Art Deco Marx Union Station in yellow so I will have to start looking for them. I have seen more plastic Skyline in HO than I have seen the O tinplate or plastic after I came upon the Interlocking Tower. The HO boxes are clearly marked Skyline. Interesting that they spanned several eras and their history outside of catalogs seemingly vanished with them.
