Hello,

I believe I need a smoke unit for my MTH # 20-3051-1

I can feel that the fan is blowing out only cold air.

So I will order a new unit from Midge at MTH.

Can I repair the old unit for a spare?

There must be some type of heating element that I can replace has anyone done this?

Thank you for your time,

Rudy

This may not be the smoke unit at all.  It would be more likely that you have a wiring issue or possibly a smoke unit output failure on the board.

Before taking time to replace the smoke unit, I suggest measuring the resistance of the smoke resistors with the smoke unit unplugged.  They should come in around 7 to 10 ohms.  Then I'd check the wiring from the smoke unit to the board.

Thanks John,

Should have known it couldn’t be that easy or economical for me.

I have all the luck, or lack of it lol.

Thank you for the sound advice I will follow it…………
