Has anybody used Solidworks 3DExperience for Makers? How was it?

It's $99 a year for access to Solidworks Professional, as I understand it. You also get a program that can be used for more organic modelling. This is very appealing to me, as I'm a big Solidworks fan and I'm looking for a CAD program. I'm just skeptical as heck about running via the internet. I know it's common with programs these days but I just like installed programs in case I don't have internet access.

I looked for some review videos on Youtube but I didn't I find many good ones. I just found a lot of Solidworks cheering itself on

I have similar questions for a professional level CAD system for low cost.   SolidEdge Community is free and will export step and other formats.   Like most of the maker/student editions of CAD it is limited for non-low profit use and files will not work in parent, full use systems.   If you don't like it, you are not out any money.
