Your welcome...
WHAT! No pictures of the N&W Y3a?
Chris, Any photos of the Santa Fe 2900 series Northern?
Very nice pictures, Chris!
The Y3a and the ATSF Northern are both tucked away in Barn 9 and are difficult to get a good shot of, given the low lighting, tight clearances and the size of these beasts. There are pictures of them on the museum's website, however:http://www.irm.org/cgi-bin/rsearch.cgi?steam=Atchison+Topeka+&+Santa+Fe+Railroad=2903;http://www.irm.org/cgi-bin/rsearch.cgi?steam=Norfolk+&+Western=2050
John you are not kidding they are buried. The only ones I managed are these...A portion of the tender...
And this nose shot of the Y3.
At least they are not out in the open.
Wow nice...that Northern sure wasn't that open when I was there.....
CWEX,
thank you for sharing the cb&q photos I grew up in the twin cites so until we moved in 1963 I saw the diesel switchers daily at st.paul yard and pigs eye freight yards were 6 blocks away from my parents home.
growing up in the fifties was a good time rail police left you alone as long as not getting in way of railroad operations ahhhh memories thank you,

p.s. would you mind if I copied the diesel photos for my own viewing?

I wouldn't mind at all, please go right ahead. Here are a couple more...

Notice the tender is still in it's "switcher" configuration from Eagle Pitcher.
