Ok, as collectors, operators and hobbyists we all come across common Lionel postwar cars whether we collect them or not. i recently bought a small postwar collection and in it was this very common 1951-54 -6462 black type 5 gondola. as i was going to put it with the 20 other 6462 black gondolas i turned it around. what i saw or rather did not see was pretty strange......there was no heat stamping, no markings no nothing on the entire side of the car. i put it under a magnifier and there is no marks or evidence that it was stamped or touched at all. so i ask the forum and postwar experts, has anybody else come across a 6462 gondola that was only heat stamped on one side?
