LIke the subject lines says, looking for sources that sell rail, ties and all the other stuff necessary for hand-laying 2-rail track. Not saying I'm committed yet to hand-laying. But, want to talk with a supplier or two on the availability and cost of all required materials.

Thanks so much for your help.

Got my rail from Right-O-Way, cut my ties from white pine boards, used Weldwood to fasten ties and a belt sander to level the tops after the glue set.

I always wished I could find spike pliers - used needle-nose.

made about six gauge blocks that hold the rail head in place while spiking.

My brother made a bunch of rail benders for "Trackside."  Did not think they were necessary until I tried one.  Almost essential, even for my 74" radius curves.
