None in that video, and none throughout the Columbia River Gorge. Ascending the Deschutes River Canyon however, the diesel was used to assist in accelerating out of the many, many slow orders, plus later in the day to conserve water a little.
Thanks for sharing "Hot Water"..................
Now that's what I call gettin' out of town!!!

Yes. Our Daughter and her husband got tickets for that car on the two day trip to Bend and return. Spectacular seating, as I sat with them for awhile when I didn't have to work.

RIGHT!!!! And THAT wasn't even full throttle.
Thanks for a great trip, Jack. I was in Car J, the CB&Q Silver Splendor dome.
Jack, was this your video?
On the Sunset Route between Weimar and Schulenburg TX west of Houston, there is a short, steep climb. WB, East Navidad River to Schulenburg. My mother told me steamers climbing this section of track were LOUD!
In 1984, one could hear 4449's bark as shee climbed that short upgrade.

No, obviously not as I was on the train. I haven't shot any video in more than 20 years, and I have give all my still cameras to our Grandson.
