Get a hold of GGG on the forum. He will be able to help you with a speaker. Yes you can call Midge at MTH she is very helpful in getting parts.
Have you called MTH and asked if they have one you can buy?
According to the engines web page, it has a 3 volt PS2 board which means that it has a 4 ohm speaker. The GP38-2 takes a standard size MTH speaker. MTH generally has these in stock.
Regardless, hw do you know that the speaker needs to be replaced?
A 4ohm 50mm standard speaker can be bought at all electronics for $1.25 ea!

AND it has a bigger magnet. Ig you know hoe to solder, just correctly mark the positive wire from the old speaker and xfer to the newer speaker. BTW- this is for a Premier SCALE fuel tank Gp38 correct?

The sounds are a bit muffled, I have had a few in the past that were similar and a new speaker did the trick.
Barry has a point that it's possible it could be several things other than a bad speaker. That said, I always have a spare of both the 4 and 16 ohm speakers as I've gone through plenty of each. I use a set of test leads to another speaker to double check that it is indeed the speaker. In my case, it's been bad most of the time but not always.

Im hoping it is only a bad speaker, I bought the engine pretty cheap and am cleaning it up but everything else seems fine other than the slight muffling of the sound. I will just use process of elimination to see what it could be.
