I think it's very cool that MTH is thinking outside the box but I would like to see it under the $1000 range. As mentioned in another post maybe a 3 car set with the option to buy an additional car. I think this is also a fishing trip for MTH to see how many bite and commit to a pre order. If there isn't enough interest it could very well never leave the drawing board. I definitely like it but there are other items I would buy first before the R17.

I spoke with Joe Mania at York, about the tooling for the Pride Lines repro of the Voltamp interurban.  Thought maybe he knew what had become of it, and if there was any chance that it might be rerun.  He is of the opinion that their is no interest in it, and pointed out that Pride Lines had a difficult time disposing of the relative few that did get reproduced (75 I think).  I would definitely purchase one if it did get rerun.  Sorry I didn't hop on it the first time around.

That makes two of us that missed out. The subway choice strikes me as odd and I am doubtful it will get made. It's sort of an exception to the whole market..I think it's not all that appealing unless you love subways to begin with. What would be really different would be a tinplate litho of a TA or E7..At least they had some inherent pizzazz..this looks like a box.
