Sometimes we tend to get carried away with this hobby but that is natural. In the end we are talking a basic hobby which stands for fun.

While there are many things I enjoy in our hobby, I love what seems to happen when sharing it with visitors to the basement 'realm.' Maybe my enthusiasm is infectious, or more likely, my guests are just being polite, but they always enjoy watching all the lights and sounds and smells, and the chance to run a train themselves.
Lots of good replies here. Let us also remember this little episode when it comes to the overall O-gauge/Scale hobby when "we" are tempted to look down, so to speak, and aspects of the hobby we're not interested in.
Just came across this article online. Looks like someone a bit younger is going to make a go of running a hobby shop. Good sign.
