It’s Sunday, which we all know means it’s time for STEAMday Sunday. This is where we post comments, photos and videos of steam locomotives of all gauges and kinds. When it’s your turn to do that, please fully comply with the Forum Terms of Service, and post only photos and videos you’ve taken or those for which you’ve obtained the written permission of the owner to post.

Here is my video for this Sunday:

That’s one of my best steamers: an MTH PS3 Long Island B6 hauling milk, etc., running slow and smooth on DCS, around the old ball park.

Now, let’s see what you’ve got to show us this Sunday. Arnold

Thanks for getting the steam up Arnold!

Here is a Lionel 785 Hudson. I never cared for the white noise sound of steam or the electronic whistle so the plug is pulled. The engine is on its last run to Croton Harmon. After the passengers are off the train, the engine will be moved to a storage track for later disposition.

On its inaugural run of the 20th Century Limited is the Lionel Legacy Dreyfuss New York Central J3 Hudson # 5445.

Good morning, StDaySun faithful!  Today I’m featuring the steam locomotive and train that started it all, the one that made me Steam Crazy, my Marx no. 333 NYC Pacific.

i believe I received this train, a Sears, Roebuck set, for Christmas in 1950 at age three.  No. 333 runs well today, not only a testament to Marx’s robust construction, but the fact that it received reduced running time after more realistic Lionel trains came along.  Now its operation is limited to ceremonial runs for the pleasure of rail fans everywhere.

John

It's a great engine John with beautiful freight cars. I have the engine in a passenger NYC set.

Thanks so much Arnold for keeping the fire stoked and the boiler pressure up to get us started today!  Love your B6!

Here are two videos taken at the last two York shows.

This is a 2-10-10-2 decked out in Halloween regalia taken this past Fall at the York show.

This photo was taken at the Spring 2024 York show.  It's of the new Atlas O  2-8=0 Consolidation to be released this coming spring.  I have one in Western Maryland livery  on pre-order with Mr. Muffin.

Pat, I'm confused; I don't see a 2-10-10-2.  It looks like a 2-8-8-8-2 to me. Am I missing something?

Large and small steam locomotives are on my layout for Steamday Sunday 02-23-2025.

The large one is Boston & Albany A-1a 2-8-4 Berkshire #1401, a Lionel model (2231340) that I purchased in December 2024. It’s been on my layout ever since and I can’t seem to get myself to remove it.

The smaller one is Boston & Albany USRA 0-8-0 steam switcher #53, also a Lionel model (6-28702) but one that I run frequently.
