Just a small note: all of my posting on creating the 2017 Christmas layout are way behind when they were actually done.  For instance, last week's posting on wiring was a 2 to 2 1/2 week process to complete, not 4 days!

This installment shows putting down the lower level track work.  The out loop is PW and the inner loop is DCS with my PS-3 Blue Comet running on it.  42" min curves on inner trackage with some 54" and some 72" mixed in.  Outer can use 27" since PW trains can handle that easily.

step 4a - lower level track

Checking clearances:

step 4b - checking clearances

getting a measurement on how to build the spacings in other areas: 3" inner to inner.

step 4c - checking clearances

Lower level in place with preliminary testing done with my PW F-3.  I use it instead of my PS3 engine in case there's electrical issues - no need to blow out a board in my Blue Comet.  The F-3 is indestructible!

step 4d - lower right side

Just another angle showing the lower level.

step 4e - lower left side

step 4f - testing lower level

I screw down the track.

step 4g - screw down track
