Here are some photo's of my Military train touring the TMB club Layout. As you can see the club is varying stages of its scenery work and working to get the club presentable for the upcoming TCA tour visit on June 26. One of the nicer developments is the scratch built deck plate bridge that runs through a few scenes on the layout. We still have a way to go. In some of the Pics you can get a birds eye view of the bench work and the ground wires that run throughout the layout to enhance Lionel Legacy

added the road for a small diorama. Finally got a scrap of concrete backer board. It paints well, easy to make realistic cracks, and easy to fit into scene. Working on some large trees for the scene.

Only one car completed this week, so not much to show but I do have 7 more cars currently in various states of assembly and weathering...three Weaver 40' boxcars and four "old" Atlas 40' boxcars. I bought all 7 at a local "O"-scale train show two weekends ago for a grand total of $80. Pretty inexpensive way to continue to work on my weathering skills!!

This is an all steel bridge I made to cross the opening to my shop. The beams are made from three pieces of steel soldered together. The sides have hand punched rivets, and the side stiffeners, top rail and bottom cross braces are soldered as well. Don't mind the dust, as I haven't cleaned the suspended layout yet. I tried to run two different engines without cleaning the track, but all I got were some sparks, and a cab light flicker. so much for not having to clean Atlas nickel silver track.

The bridge took about a month to build, but it has stood the test of time. I lie the way it is weathering naturally. I plan to letter it some day, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the suspended layout. I do want to build a ground layout in the yard.
