I am trying to decide whether to reserve the Crescent...any idea of the estimated delivery date for these?
The Crescent has not gone into formal design yet, but all the research has been completed. There is a chance the Crescent will go into formal design this year which makes it a possibility for next year. Like all GGD projects, order of production has to do with where the preorders are at.

I highly recommend ordering it. I've seen many of these cars at museums in the southeast and having a real accurate model would be stellar. I do have my reservation in.
With that much time to save for it, I will put in my reservation. I have been searching for Southern passenger cars for a while...and they are few and far between in 2 rail.

Andy,
Yes. This was the consist that was pulled by E8s for the entire time Southern operated this train. Several of those E8s ended up going to NJ DOT after the Southern transferred the train to Amtrak in 1979.
FP7s also pulled this train on occasion.
