Happy Switcher Saturday everyone!

First off, here are the rules as I see them:

We are a bunch of humble, switcher-loving, do-gooders who love all things switcher-related. So, if you have a switcher, have a picture of a switcher or smell like a switcher, post your switcher pictures, here! We are also very deep and humble! In fact we are so humble, we should have a side-topic about how humble we are!

I am pinch-hitting for Rich Murnane who is doing train show stuff on Saturday. Here are the details:

Fredericksburg, VA: Rappahannock Model Railroaders Annual Christmas Train Show. Dec 8 (9-5) & 9 (10-4).

The show will feature operating layouts, train vendors, activities for the young and a Ready-to-Run O Gauge Train Set will be the raffle grand prize.

Where: Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #4123, 21 Cool Spring Rd, Fredericksburg VA 22405. Cost: $8/adults, $1/Ages 7-12. Free for kids under 7.

 www.rmrailroaders.com

Here are pictures of what Rich will be operating. The Santa in the back looks an awful lot like Rich Murnane. Hmmm!

If any of you are around on Sunday, The Toy & Train Show is going on in White Plains, NY ...Arnold Cribari posted a topic just about that recently: https://ogrforum.com/...68#81819043076793368 All the details can be found there.

So, either way, Rich in Fredericksburg, VA on Saturday (today, December 8th) or myself in White Plains, NY (on Sunday, December 9th) ...stop by and say hi if you are in the neighborhood.

My contribution is my prewar #228 which has been embargoed by Santa until December 25th. All its replacement parts have been ordered and are on their way via Santa's elves!

A little "souvenir" from a trip in  your country, while visiting Scranton PA, I founded a very nice hobbyshop who had this special model made for the shop of the Lionel docksider with Lackawanna  stampings, so it returns to France with me..... nice little piece, and it was the last one. Scranton was a great place to visit.

Yay! SWSat is on!

Hi Switcher Society! Thanks for running things this week Tom. We are off to a great start this week with some very nice posts.

I ran trains last week  in the NYSME layout. Here are a few pics from there. It looks like they were taken from a drone  I have to reassure you this is the Oscale 2 rail layout   They are open again this weekend  if you are in Carlstadt NJ you should swing by.

The Providence & Worcester Railroad was incorporated in 1844 and operates in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York. P&W GP38-2 #2007 was acquired new from EMD in November 1980. Until recently, I used to see P&W #2006 in New Haven almost every day, but it no longer visits here. That’s what made me purchase this MTH model of #2007. I like it so much that I have a model of P&W GP-40 #3001 on order. MTH made two cabooses in P&W livery but I haven’t been able to acquire either one.

Happy SWSat!

Thanks again for being the pinch Yard Master again Tom

Great stuff so far everyone.

This week I have my new PRR B-6 switcher that I just received Thursday. Put it on the track this morning and gave it a short test. Needs to be serviced and lubed for sure. This is the Lionel 6-18000 version from 1989, the first with Railsounds. Been looking for one of these for a while.

Sorry Tom- it's not as old as yours

Bob

PS- I'm a tentative YES for White Plains tomorrow!

The P&W is one of my favorite RRs I have an MTH SD70 that I converted to 2 rail.  I have my eye on the GP40 as well. I found one of the Cabooses on EBay at a very good price because it was weathered. Probably more heavily than the real one has ever been. Maybe it was from the future.

I am in the middle of conversation to 2 rail to match the SD.

Good luck finding one Melgar.

FRENCHTRAINS/Daniel, When you were in Scranton, I hope you had time to visit Steamtown?

Tom

Yes Tom, I was there after York show to visit Steamtown and the trolley museum. I had a great time with a train tour and also trolley tour. I spend a full day to visit that place and also the Anthracite coal museum. It was not enough time to see i will have to return.....

And in the yard was that nice little engine so that's why I bought the Lionel one...

The customer requested it to be intentionally done that way. It was being modeled on a siding as ABANDONED and no longer in service, thus, the condition.

Good morning fellow SWSAT friends!!   Tom thanks for being at throttle this morning and getting us rolling!   I hope Rich a great time at the show!   I'm really enjoying looking at everyone's photos/videos and information this morning  Today I have a video of a Ma & Pa SW 1 rolling thru a grade crossing

Ha ha.  So it is one of yours SIRT. I am honored to have one. I do admire  your work. Well you may be happy to know it is still in circulation. Once it gets new wheels and Kaydees it will be on the NYSME layout on my P&W train.

That B6 is a nice engine and available at a good price considering what newer models go for. I picked one of these up last year myself. Enjoy!

Gotta have a Plymouth to go with that Mopar set. Nice find Gary.

Hi Bob,

They are all "related" as yours was supposedly built using the original tooling. I have one, too. It's a very good switcher.
