 It's #SwitcherSaturday time!!!!

Lots of us out there love switchers (shifters, docksiders, yard goats, critters, etc.), so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

If you missed last week's SWSAT you should really go take a look, it was a ton of fun!
https://ogrforum.com/...saturday-2018-feb-10

This week at the Murnane house: NYC #1655 (0-4-0) is pulling some passenger cars around, getting the weekend special ready for the big guys, while NYC #2231 (MP-15) sits idle waiting for orders.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and when you get a chance - please post some switcher stuff here!

Reminder: Next week's edition of SWSAT will be our 3 year anniversary, I'm hoping everyone can do something special that week, some sort of "look back" at the last three years of fun.
So please start thinking about some of your favorite SWSAT memories, pictures, and videos and note them down for posting that week.

All the best...Rich Murnane

p.s. Miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

Yay! SWSat is flipped to the “on” position.

This week I have some more switcher shots from the NYSME 2 rail O scale layout as I continue my slow slide away from 3rail. I guess I am skipping the 3 rail Oscale half measure. I am enjoying the building of NOS 40 year old wooden car kits  aspect of the 2rail thing there seem to be a ton of them out there.

Its fun getting in so close with an IPhone camera. I think some of these look like railfan shots.

First up a nice IR boxcab sliding a short train past a parked commuter trainC0353226-E688-4ED5-9D94-47DDD8C90C23D979CB6F-5D49-47B1-961B-949DCE271616

Here is a nice Rahway Valley RR 70 tonner. Sadly not a paint scheme offered by

Williams by Bachmann on thier new 70 tonner due out at the end of next month.

I think this one was a Rich Yoder.

Have a great Weekend guys.

Gorgeous!

Happy SWSat Everyone!

Looking good Rich. Nice to see the railroad getting busy!

Mike CT- cool innards there. Every time I open an engine I marvel at how the designers fit everything under the shells. Just think about the people that assemble these "toys" day after day.

Arnold- Nice D&H- going to be joining the D&H club myself soon (stay tuned)

Andy- I've gotta check out that club layout one day. Beautiful! We will forgive your slide to the Dark Side

For some reason I woke up seeing double today. Maybe more coffee will clear things up....

Everyone have a great long weekend. More time to play with trains! YAY

Happy Switcher Saturday everyone.

Great stuff everyone.

Andy/SILVERLAKE--Beautiful boxcab!

RSJB18--Nice Docksides. Hope your vision goes back with some caffeine.

My contribution today is my #231 which once was a basket case...a little copper and JB Weld to repair a cab step and a little copper for the front pilot (yes it has a coupler...but not in this picture!) and Voila!

IMG_0197_edited Carmine setting 1-7-17

I will have some exciting "Switcher News" next week. Tune in for details.

No worries Rich. You picked the right livery (or PRR) and just remember that she will need the switchers to set up her consist.

Rich - congrats on the new locomotive purchase!!  Road locomotives are much needed so the switchers can have cars to switch in and out of all those industries   No crime committed in purchasing a road engine.

Great photos as usual Patrick.

I'm a little late posting this week but have been away from the computer all day.

Congratulations to Rich on that very nice-looking NYC "Mike."

Some photos below of my Atlas O USRA 0-6-0 switcher CNJ #107. In my opinion, the metalwork on this model, especially the wheels and rods, is the nicest of any switcher that I have. Was going to post these pictures for next week's 3-year anniversary but will instead just buy another switcher to post for next week.

Been eyeing a couple of these switchers without the TMCC electronics with the intention to upgrade them with ERR components.  How's the performance of these horizontal motored Atlas types under CC?  The horizontal layout seems to be preferred method nowadays, like on 3rd Rail engines.

I own both Sunset (horizontal drive) and MTH (two vertical drives) diesel locomotives. As far as I can tell, the slow speed operation of the MTH locomotives is no different than the Sunsets. Maybe I'm not picky enough!

Always love photos of your layout Patrick. How did the foreign power wind up on the FSJR?
