It is in the que for repowering. After that I think mine may become a New York, New Haven and Hartford, Old Colony or New York, Providence and Boston engine...eventually.
Maybe I’ll make a boat Train for it to pull. These were crew regatta observation trains that paced the boats as they moved down the river. The New Haven have run well over 140 of them but I don’t see them discussed often nor seen it modeled. These early cars look amazing. The last one was in 2004. Here is a you tube link to some footage.
Andy,
Nobody in the whole world has a New York, Providence & Boston model locomotive! An NYP&B engine pulling NYNH&H cars to the boat races on the Housatonic or Thames River at New London could be the subject of a model railroad. An article on the boat trains appeared in "Shoreliner" Volume 40, Issue 1, the magazine of the New Haven Railroad Historical and Technical Association nhrhta.org.

I have a favorite switcher too. It's an SW1500 and its now 19 years young. A lot of fun and has given rides to many folks over the years. Russ

Atlas models.
I had done Custom paints (Atlas undecorated models) of the Shawmut SW9's
Pittsburg Shawmut (Shawmut Line) was a coal hauling railroad, less than 100 miles of track. Brockway and Brookville PA to Freeport Pa, where the railroad interchanged with the Pennsy. Bicentennial paint was done 1976.
Mike, Eggcellent work! And I will never tire of being reminded about the Shawmut, another Fallen Flag.

Hey guys, I'm honored and humbled by all the comments and pictures. What fun it's been to do this for the last few years, I'm very grateful to have such a great crew of friends here checking in and participating every week.
The show today went very well. I ran my LC+ NYC RS-3 with my Lionel NYC baby madison passenger cars, but forgot to take a picture or video. I've attached a PDF document of an "info" page I showed some of the more interested folks (yes, kind of a "geek" move). Overall is was really fun day, got to meet some very nice people.
I did see one 0-4-0 that was oh-so-close to coming home with me, it just felt a bit overpriced and I guess I wasn't in a "buying mood".
Thank you again everyone for the kind words, the pictures, and everything else, and "cheers" to each of you this Switcher Saturday.
This is my MTH Alco S-2 that I just finished westhering today. Sadly, MTH got this one wrong as 2103 was never in the red and whtie paint scheme; 2104 was the only one to see that paint scheme before being scrapped in 1967. Anyway, since it's not prototypical and I want to model 1975 to 1985, I took great liberty in making this S-2 last longer than any Soo S-2 ever did. It's been working the freight yards for 30+ years and since being repainted in 1962, it's largely been neglected so far as appearence goes.

Is this one an ex Chicago El?
I know there is one in Illinois and the three ex New York City EL Forneys in Unpreserved state on the Alaska Tundra.
After Electrification these traveled far and wide. Serving industry, mines, logging and construction. Nice that a few survivors are around still. They would make a great model. Put me down for at least one.

In your nicely done attachment, Croton-Harmon station is on the lower left. Your lower right has The Putnam Division, I think it is Briarcliff Manor (or maybe Nepperhan).

Here is Rich’s PDF image. It is very nicely done and really puts the engine in context. Very cool.
