Its a building! Maybe a brewery!

Mike;

I’m not entirely sure, but I think I’m beginning to see a pattern to your guesses...

Apples, I look at it this way, They build a flat car with tank's on them so now I don't have to build my own. So one day they just may build a brewery! LOL

Your O gauge storage solution: The American Materials building by Menards

Dimensions: 6-1/4”W x 5-3/4”D x 16-1/2”H

The basics: The fully-assembled structure has four silos, two animated American Materials signs, exterior security illumination, maintenance men, and flashing red lights on the roof. The building has a tight footprint, approximately 6-inches long, 5 ½ inches wide, and 16 ½ inches to the rooftop railings.

For illumination, the structure requires a Menards 4.5 volt power supply, Menards 279-4361/4061, 279-4362/4062, or 279-4050.

Why you need this: This new structure fits right in with the mission of your railroad - moving heavy cargo. The three-level building’s finish is a dirty gray, suggesting it has been in business for a few years.

The first level is designed with a run-through for traffic or for installation on a siding and can easily accommodate O gauge hoppers or gondolas.

Near the top of the first level you’ll find two security lights on each side. A ladder runs up one side, stopping at the second level. A walkway and safety rails run around the silos and there is plenty of room for you to add additional workers.

The ladder continues up to the roof, where you’ll find surface mounted ductwork, two workers, and a toolbox. The safety railing secures the edges. Just in case you have low-flying aircraft, there are flashing red LEDs on each corner.

The two animated American Materials signs are the building’s standout feature. The brightly lit LED signs replicate an American flag waving in a breeze. When powered up, this will be easy to spot in any lighting!

But all your eggs aren’t in one basket. The design isn’t limited to only to the concrete industry. The universal design makes this structure a good candidate for any trackside industry using aggregates. You’ll find labels for cement, sand, fracking sand, gravel, coal, grain, and salt (Hello, Morton!). You can affix them to the silos to fit whatever scene you are creating.

In short, this is a compact structure with a minimal footprint, but which will stand out to all who visit your railroad.

This building is great. It's generic enough to be used for many industries.

Mark from Menards...I do have one question.

The website pictures do not give a clear view of the power plug port:

As shown it appears that the plug goes into the edge of the support column. Does this accessory also have a hidden plug in port on the underside of the support column? Most of the new buildings have a hidden pig-tail socket for the wall transformer plug.

Does this building also have the hidden port?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I can confirm that there is a 4.5 volt input on the bottom. This has a "pigtail" with a female power receptacle. Thanks for asking!

Mark, I don't have a Menards closer that 350 miles, I will be unable to use my rebate money on your .com(it ain't much) just the principle of the thing or can you offer a suggestion? I suspect there are others in the same boat.

I live on the east coast and I can't use my rebates, know what? I don't care. Yes it would be nice but it is what it is.

Im not going to miss out on great products because of a rebate.

Now if you have family or friends near a Menards  then give them the rebates to use at Menards and they can reimburse you with cash.

I have the same problem with the discounts, and the distance. however, the buildings and cars are still a good value.

We do need some conveyors now!!!

Well done Mark and crew. This is a nice follow up to the country station. Smaller footprints. Can be used for multiple uses. Almost forgot mention Bob too. He has been sort of quiet of late. I think he has been inspecting alot of new items to roll out this year. Going to order one for myself. Now with a Menards only two miles away I will miss traveling the 30 plus miles to go pick up my stuff.................Paul

Ok Mark, we might have a problem here! I don't even have my layout built yet and my Menards want list is longer the my engine or train car list! Even when I am done I am not sure where I will put all the great stuff your putting out, But I am sure I will do my best!

P.S. Just a side note. I am going to North Dakota in September, can you make sure they have there train stuff on the second floor so I don't have to make 2 trips like last year? LOL Just asking!
