I got the Texas Tavern model kit from River Leaf Models at the last York show.  I started back in November building the kit and finally got it done today.

I searched the internet and found interior pictures of the real Texas Tavern in Roanoke, VA.   I used those pictures as inspiration to scratch build the interior of the model.

The counter tops, wall, and floor were made of balsa wood.  Cabinets were cut from block wood.  The stools were made of 1/8" square balsa and 3/8" dowel rod.

And here it is on the layout.

Thank for the picture!

Something interesting here. Few month ago was a lite discussion about the traffic direction on the street because my picture show a car from right to left.

a guy said that he live long enough there and never was from west to east always was the opposite. Well Now your picture corroborate my pictures or show a illegal turn.

Who knows?

Good job! I like the interior. Can you see it once it's on the layout? My Victorian Station has a full interior (even with art work on the walls) and you can't see it even though it's at the front of the layout. I also like that it's a small building that's actually a scale representation of the real thing. So often us O'gaugers have to re-scale structures so they fit our limited spaces.
