Does anybody know the final year or years for the use of the Swift fleet of reefers on the Grand Trunk Western and Canadian National?

I have read various mentions of them being used on the Grand Trunk Railway that became the Grand Trunk Western and Canadian National after 1923.

Was it between 1940-1950?

Has anybody happened across the dates of the final use of Swift refrigerator cars on the railroads?

Andrew

Not that does not confirm that color in the real world.  But did they have in in silver?

There were Swift reefers painted in silver. The Illinois State Railroad Museum has about 5 of them, for example (and a red one as well). You can find pictures at that site.

Interesting. Where is the "Illinois State Railroad Museum" located? I've lived in Illinois since 1971, and have never heard of it.
