The only train item I have wanted that I can not find is the elusive caboose from the Mighty Casey line of trains made in 1970 by Remco.Fifty of the cabooses were made before the entire line was cancelled.Someone must have the caboose for sale.I would be happy to just get some high quality photos of a caboose that is still around.Any OGF members that may have the caboose or may know someone that does, please contact me.

A caboose, freight station and a left hand switch were the only additional items made for the Mighty Casey line. Not many of these items were made. The left hand switch is only a one piece mold. They did not make the frog assembly for it.The frog piece in the photo is a custom one the owner of it added.

I had never heard of this line before receiving the latest TCA Train Collectors Quarterly.  It ccontains an interesting article about one George Arbeeny, who manufactures replacement parts for the trains.

He is quoted as saying that very few of the caboose ever made it to the public.  Even he has never seen one, but he is making one based on Remco photographs.

Amazing coincidence. Last night I was at a friends house and he was showing me one of these sets he had bought for his grandkids. Found it at a garage sale. I come home and checked this forum and here is this thread. I was unaware of the Mighty Casey less than 24 hours ago.

I called and, no, he too does not have a caboose.
