There were a number of threads asking about Trainstock at the NJ HiRailers this year but this is the official announcement   Trainstock 13 WILL BE held on Saturday January 15  2022

For those that dont know what Trainstock is I will explain  We at the club started this 14 years ago.  What it is is a forum party  Everybody from the forum and their friends and family are invited to come see the Nj HiRailers layout in Paterson NJ  We have a party  We feed you We quench your thirst and we let any attendee run their trains on our layout  Our own Chef Vinny goes all out in the food department  He gives you appetizers, hot food, and desserts.  We give you water, soda, beer and wine.  We do charge $7.00 just to offset some of the cost of the food.  Trust me you really get your monies worth in that department   Some people come just to taste Vinnys Eggplant Parmigiana.    I will post the menu when Vinny finalizes it.

The address of the club is

185 Sixth Ave

Paterson NJ 07524

We have raffles and giveaways of some nice items

As we all know we lost one of our friends and Nj HiRail member Marty Fitzhenry two years ago.  Marty was at 10 of our previous 12 Trainstocks and it was that attendance that led him to join our club  This past year our club dismantled Martys layout and brought most of it back to Paterson  We are in the process of framing Martys wall of fame where many people signed their names when visiting his layout.  We will be displaying a number of his unique items.    We are placing  a number of items on the layout but found that a number of items just dont fit so we are doing something a little different this year   First we will be giving anybody that attends a small piece of Martys layout   For other trains clubs that contact us we have a number of small items that we will donate to them in remembrance of Marty for their own little Memorial   And at Trainstock we will be raffling off some of Marty's items that are pretty nice

The Raffle will be

First Prize   Marty Fitzhenrys Roundhouse and Turntable  The six stall roundhouse and turntable can be seen in the picture  Of course the Trains are not included

Second Prize  Marty Fitzhenry's Two Stall MTH Engine house that can be seen in the following picture

Third Prize  One of our Special run Atlas 40 foot Bohack Beer Reefers

There will also be a number of giveaways.

We will also have our new calendar and the Trainstock hats available  ( Very limited numbers of both )

If you do a search on the forum for Trainstock you can see a number of pics and videos of past parties   We had some interesting guests over the years

One thing I ask is if you are attending just give us an idea of the number in your party in this thread   This helps us plan for the food.

Thank you everyone and I hope to see you in January

Hey Ben what is the footprint of 1st and second prize so when I win I know which vehicle to bring. Bellevue and Schenectady RR  would be great place to preserve them!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I will measure it on Wednesday when I am at the club.   Any chance the organ player is coming with you

Count me in if there's not a blizzard!

Bring your bedding with you.  Plenty of room for folks to sleep under the layout.

I just learned over the weekend I have to take my son back to college the next day.  So much for plans to get a hotel room and sleep over.  Thank-goodness  I have MLK day off to recover!

We're all really looking forward to seeing everyone!

I’d like to go, but need someone to drive in with me. (I only have one eye, so long drives are iffy).

I'd recommend making a post that you're looking for a ride and state where you live.  You'd be surprised at the fellowship of fellow forumites.   I would have gladly given you a lift but it would take me almost 2 hours out of my way.
