I shot this about eleven years ago after Vic and I waited for a train almost three hours. Don

The Keddie Wye. A very scenic spot!
Spelling corrected. Thanks Professor Chaos. When I wrote that, it didn’t look right, but I posted it anyway.

Keddie.
I was lucky enough to travel over it on some special excursions in old CZ dome cars, before the cars were sold and excursions were shut down. One was up the Inside Gateway, which wasn't even a passenger route when WP was operating passenger trains.
Outstanding railroad location. Was there about 20 years ago and was driving east on the road that parallels the tracks/yard. Spotted a sign that said "Roundhouse Road", which proved to be two streaks of dirt which dead-ended by the tracks. But, by gosh, it was the site of the steam locomotive roundhouse and turntable. No buildings left and was a "hobo jungle" location, with a fire pit and burnt cans. But I marinated in the history.
The road that leads to the western end of the Keddie Yard had a couple of structures that looked like crew sleeping quarters. And a trip To Keddie requires a visit to Williams Loop, where a freight train loops over itself. The Feather River Canyon/Western Pacific is a must see in any railfan's life!
I was going to ask if this was the Feather River gorge but question answered. A wonderful shot and worth the wait, I'm sure.
