Any good public train displays in the Branson Missouri area?

You're not too far from the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad, where you can still ride excursions behind their remaining ALCO power.
There is the TPA (may have changed name) hobby shop at 251 Saint James St. in downtown Hollister, MO which is just across the bridge south of downtown Branson and east of the tracks.
And Trainland Hobbies at 31231 south Campbell in Springfield, Mo.
Also Forum members in the area.
Branson has a local train to ride, which is in downtown Branson.
The A&M is approx. 2.5 hrs to the southwest of Branson and I'm about 16 miles from the A&M Springdale Arkansas depot.
AND...you have an open invitation to go a little farther south to my place and visit the Twin Lakes Central RR....(our layout)...!!

CBS072, Keith Johnson as it right in his post above. That is about all that there is. But go to Dick's 5 & Dime in downtown Branson, They have 3 or 4 G gauge trains running all the time in the ceiling area, plus you will not believe all the old stuff that they have in their store.
Like Alan, leavingtracks, said his is a must see layout. We live in Springfield, MO and you are more than welcome to come by our layout anytime. Just e-mail me which you can find in my profile. Hope you enjoy us "hillbillies down her in the Ozarks".
Been to Branson 3 times and you have to see Dicks 5 & dime, a store to visit often.
The train store in Hollister is very nice but they only open for O Gauge 3 days a week and 2-3 for HO and others.

You didn't mention if you were traveling with family or alone. This is not train related but the tiger sanctuary is a few miles away, and the V.I.P. tour gives you a behind the scene view plus a chance to safely feed the lions and tigers through a double fence. The butterfly house (much more than just butterflies) is my daughters favorite and you have the ducks, which give a light tour of Branson and then a drive through a military vehicle collection before cruising the lake. There is a showboat which tours the lake with a great dinner show. Don't forget Silver Dollar City, Shepard of the hills and tons of things to do on the strip.
On the way down you can stop at Lambert's cafe just north of Ozark, MO and get some rolls thrown at you. I think at one time they had a G scale train running in that restaurant, but not sure about whether that's still the case.

got the family- been to the 5&10.
Was looking for a layout that is open. May hit the hobby shop-
The main railroad attraction in town starts at the depot in downtown Branson and is called the Branson Scenic Railway. It conducts two hour trips throughout the day across bridges and through the Ozark mountains. I believe they still have a nightly dinner trip. I have been on the trip a couple times, and there is a lot of scenery to look at thoughout the year. It is push-pulled by GP30 and F7 engines, and has numerous dome cars. Just Google Branson Scenic Railway.
Just south of there in Eureka Springs, Ark. (a quaint town if there is one) is the Heeber Creeper, a tourist train ride with some vintage railcars sitting around.
Branson Hobby was a nice visit. It was pretty impressive to see the sheer amount of "stuff" there, including slots, HO, O, G, and RC. I purchased some stuff that I really didn't need, but was glad to pick the stuff up.

Personally, I'd go see the Osmond Family.
