You name it, driving aggressively, yelling at their kids, yelling at the staff, yelling at fellow patrons; a few of them from the time they pull into the parking until they leave.

Ron, If possible, come again during a weekday.  It's very sane compared to the Saturdays.

Kelly nailed it... Pushing, shoving, inconsiderate, like they are the only ones there that matter.  No manners whatsoever.  Guess how those kids are going to grow up?

Thanks for the offer Kelly.  We love the Strasburg RR and will ride the train half a dozen times or more this year.  My children are teens now and we prefer the full ride behind #89, #90 (My favorite) or #475 vs. the shortened Thomas ride.  We still love the narration too... "We pay that ghost $29.50 to blow that whistle..."  It never gets old.

A couple of years back we drove down to ride the train not knowing it was a Thomas weekend.  As we were approaching and saw the engine, we all agreed we would just chase the train to Paradise and back and enjoy the rest of what Lancaster has to offer.

Ron

Parental instict is scary ugly at times. Nearly all get obsessive over some kind of "best", often trivial provision they feel a need to supply, and watch out world when they do. Some competition added in and things can get stupid fast, even for something stupid like the "right seat". Idiot parent or drunken idiot; the latter is easier to predict and deal with more often that you might think... Drunks come back and apologize later way more often, so it's kind even up. I've dealt with thousands of both kinds of idiots as service, security, and management alike (not there). Not "militant" but, get too obnoxious and Henry Ford Greenfield Villiage they will herd you out of that crowd at least for chat pretty quick from what I've seen. Wild or reckless? You might get warned once or twice tops, then bye bye. And/or calm local police are 125% ready for anything too nuts. The mix of international business and local culture takes real finesse and they used to have the highest ratio of cop per person outside of Beverley Hills too; probably still does. There are far more important attractions there to protect than some rugged iron horses, horse & carriages, horseless carriages, etc. This is a world class industrial history museum and a villiage of historical buildings where important things, from daily farming practice to electrical advancement were made, are preserved or recreated to be witnessed and sometimes interacted with. An internationally appreciated destination that takes 2 maybe 3 days to cover decently well, inside and out. A paridise for international engineers on vacation. Combined with all the engineering classes and and industry, maybe the highest concentration of pocket protectors per person at times as well. I preferred the Dearborn Inn to the Ritz or Hyatt...there is budget and chain kitchenettes about 2 miles off. Amtrack station is real close too 😎 Check the calander, they roll all kinds of special stuff out of storage for a while to change it up and themes run from modern pop culture to 🤔....before cultures Downtown, Detroit's Michigan Central Railroad Station gets prettier every day under Ford ownership as well.
