So, I was just re-reading a copy of O Scale Railroading from 1989, and I said to myself "Self, that was not so long ago.”
Then I realized that I was on my 30’s then (with hair!), that MTH and Menard's trains did not yet exist, that K-line was just starting out, in 1989.
No digital or Bluetooth controls were mentioned anywhere.
None of the advertisers had email, much less websites.
It dawned on me that 1989 was half of my life ago, 5 years before my joining TCA or going to my first York. Warrenville was only 5 or 6 years old and only about 8 x 10 feet in size, with O27 curves, located in a spare basement bedroom. (see: About | WarrenVille RailRoad )
My, how time flies!!
That said, it was a great Mag then and still is, AND, now we have Digital issues and the Forum.
I don't know what the point of this post is, but I thought I'd share my thoughts anyway, just for the heck of it.
