I got my TIU's firmware updated so thank you for all the help but I am still unclear on changing the sound file in a PS 3.0 locomotive. If the locomotive already has a sound file do I need to reflash it or just proceed like any other PS 2 locomotive. I also changed the sound file in one of my locomotives from a PRR to Santa Fe file but the locomotive still reads PRR 2-8-0. Is there a way to change this? I really appreciate all of the help here.

the ps 3/2 steam and diesel kits can use ps2 sound files!50-1911 steam n 50-1912 diesel kits are the part numbers!
sometimes ps3/2 when you download a sounds file for ps3/2 it is zipped
and when you open the zipped file you will see 2 files one is the sound file and the other is a flash file to setup the ps3/2 board electronics to run that locomotive! Alan
The PS3 Diesel upgrade doesn't use the PS32 board, it's nothing like the PS/2 diesel upgrade kit. A PS/2 diesel upgrade uses the true PS/3 diesel board and a complete wiring harness for PS/3 diesel.
The PS3 steam upgrade is basically the PS/2 steam upgrade with the PS32 board replacing the PS/2 board in the kit.
