Got my TIU / WIU just over a year ago. (Rev L) Been doing great... up until yesterday. Got home, wanted to fire up an engine... TIU shows engines inactive. Tried to move either one to active status, nope. Get that, oh great now what feeling. Both engines are PS3s. Pulled one engine down and put on test track. Functions fine on conventional. Pulled down the other, works fine too. Cleared out one engine from the system, factory reset with conventional, just trying to go back to square one. Hooked up TIU to test track with engine, get the no new engines found. Tried with other engine, w/o reset, wont let me set it to active. Engine powers up and idles. Tried the 2nd port on TIU, same results. Next thing I did was get on here and poke around. Sounds like its gotta go into the shop and have the DCS signal chip checked / replaced. Wish it was a part I could buy and swap out. Do these go out often? Dont have an LHS shop near me. Anything im missing to try? I have a fuse between output of TIU and track for extra protection, and when im not using it, i unplug the system. Looks like its back to conventional for now.
Id be tempted to buy a new one for a backup unit, but not a used one for 500.00 on the bay.
