I am considering adding a Western Pacific powered B unit with Legacy from the new Lionel catalog to my existing ABA combo with TMCC. Will I encounter any issues in command control with both a TMCC and Legacy powered unit in the same multi unit consist?

No issues except that the Legacy engine will function in TMCC mode once the MU has been created and only 31 speed steps instead of the 200 Legacy speed steps will be available.

Thanks for the reply. This should not be a problem for me as it will serve as a "helper unit" for the A unit.
depending on the year of the older units you might have to turn off the Odyssey II in the legacy unit. Odyssey II and Odyssey I do not seem to play good together. place them on the track a foot apart and start them up if the newer unit catches up to the older unit you will know.
Maybe someone more knowledgable will jump in here, but this issue has been discussed before, but I don't recall the details. I do recall that it's a complicated issue, and generally Legacy engines and Odyssey engines are not going to work together when MUed, or as some like to say, in lashups.
It seems that if the Odyssey I engine is a later version with an on/off switch, it may be possible to run them together with the Odyssey switched off, as noted by bigdodgetrain, but I don't remember what the parameters are on that.
My powered A unit goes back to 2004, so it is not the newer version if this helps to clarify the situation. Maybe the best thought would be to e-mail Mike Regan to get his take.
Brian,
As long as both have the odyssey off they will run fine together you should find a switch to turn it off!

Thanks Gunny.
