Decades ago i was intimately involved in rebuilding a steam locomotive, tender, and passenger coach. And streetcars. A big problem was bolts frozen with rust that would shear when they had to be removed. Recently a new tool has been invented that makes removal of frozen rusted bolts easy. I haves-l400 found this newMini-Ductor2-Case-sml tool amazing and recommend it to any person involved in restoration. It is an induction coil that heats the frozen bolt, which is then easily removed. This innovative tool is specifically engineered to enable rapid removal of rusted-in-place bolts without shearing.

There are many different ratings and manufacturers. $250-$700. Research induction heating tool. They work rather quickly. I just discovered this tool rebuilding an old auto engine. I must be living in the bat cave never to have heard about it. The heat is extremely localized. It is flameless. Very important when restoring a wooden coach.
