Train stuff is out in Springfield Il.  I had $200 in Menards bucks and just kept walking.  Windows, siding and roof cost me a fortune this year.  September 1st, we had 7” of rain and I didn’t have gutters.   Last winter I started a tear down and rebuild.   Needless to say my basement flooded.   All the stuff on the floor got thrown up on my layout.  I have a lot of things to go thru before I worry about new purchases.  Still, it’s nice to see the train stuff out.

I don't think Menards has pulled that special project trigger as yet. Though it would be cool if they did, but that is a very expensive and risky move. I would rather see them take their time and be successful then rush in and lose a bunch of money they could better spend building a supper store in South Phila. Across from the Auto mall, next to the new food outlet center would be a good location.

I can't even look at any Menards products, let alone buy any. We do not have a Menards store any where in western Penna.

Warren, OH isn't a bad run from western PA, maybe you can make an afternoon of it stopping in Hermatage for Kranyaks, Menards in Warren.  Mocha House on High St in Warren is a great refresher stop, full menu, coffee, pastries.

I have noticed that the Bachmann HO sets and the Lionel O gauge sets have been very slow movers over the past several years at my local Menards — a sharp contrast to the Menards-branded O gauge train line.

Also of note: The HO scale Menards buildings sit in the shelves a lot longer than their O gauge counterparts.

I can’t recall any Menards exclusive train sets, but I could be wrong.

Lol, maybe, the stuff is going and they are just restocking before you go to the store again. I think Menards would know better as to what they are selling.

Well before Menard’s began offering their own model train products, they started in O gauge by selling Lionel train sets, some of them Menard’s exclusives in Wisconsin Central livery. They also offered separate-sale FasTrack so people could expand their sets.

No, ‘fraid not. Menards puts all of its train inventory out seasonally, and too often the sets that have appeared on the shelves are the same discounted sets that were left over from the previous selling season.

Plus, there is no warehouse to restock seasonal shelves within each store, just a shipping and receiving area which is inundated with incoming home improvement merchandise several times a week.

Remember, Menards is a home-improvement center, not a hobby store. Trust me, I stop into my local Menards often for everything from home-improvement supplies to trains.

Have doubts? Use the Menards app, as I do, to see how much stock is on hand for any SKU.

Menards still sells Lionel train sets. But I haven’t seen any recent exclusives that I can recall. I know Lionel had a Wisconsin Central set that Menards sold (6-30059), but I didn’t think that was exclusive. Was that it?
