Train watching in Auburn CA

I'll be in Auburn CA next week. Other than Roseville Yard what are the other "hot spots"? I'd like to check out some smaller active yards, maybe some good spots to catch trains at speed. These don't have to be just "get out of your car and take picture spots" I don't mind walking a bit to get the good spots.
