My ZW may be going in for service in the next few weeks. I have a spare KW to use in the interim. The transformer would only be running 2 trains. I would imagine the KW could handle the load, but just wanted to ask you guys. Average load would be a postwar F3 w/ a few passenger cars & 736 berk w/ some freight

I run a KW on my layout which is similar to yours with no problem. The circuit breaker was original and it started to trip after a couple years. Changed out with a 10 amp CB from Jeff Kane.
If the KW is dedicated solely to running your two trains you should be OK, just watch that the KW doesn't get too warm. Even my ZW heats up when running a twin-motor F-3 with a 736 Berk, but I also have a fixed-voltage accessory line on it.
The KW is good for around 140 watts out, so it should be able to run two consists unless you have a real power hog.
