I have a pair of them but not in use yet; been working towards them clearing out the remaining old ones that I have gathered over the years. They look ok, 2 springs instead of 4, roller, not shoe type.
If you plan to use live overhead, I would not recommend them

Curious. Why?
Why not use them on live over head, They are all brass????

I have had to rebuild the pivot so they do not fall apart. I have used them on my North Shore cars that do not run off of overhead....... now lets talk overhead, you need to replace the slider with one from precision scale....... now if you do all that why not by the precision scale, Jason Brass Poles offers the Precision scale poles assembled or as a kit..... here is a screen capture off of his webpage, the price may be out of date
here is a link to his web page

and his e-bay page

I hope that helps
he also sells these which I have some on some of my 2-rail models

I'll have to look more closely at the ones I have then....
I have had the same problem with the pivot, whatever the pole clips on isn't long enough. How did you make the repair???
Marty
I would drill thru the post and than solder a brass wire in the hole I drilled, keeping the wire long enough to allow the pole to pivot. currently the pivot is just a poor dimple in the brass......
That is what I thought of doing, what size drill bit did you use and did you remove the existing nub???
Marty
Marty, everything is packed away, I did remove the nub, I matched the drill size to the size of brass wire I had available to me at the time
That makes perfect sense, I will give it a go on Saturday..

I got the hole drilled, 1/16th bit, and put in some stranded wire that I had all tinned up, bent over the ends and works like a charm, at least it is staying on as compared to before when it would just flop off... Not the easiest thing I have done but it works..
