Maybe I've been spoiled by Amazon's DOA policy?
Friday I received a new PH180 6-22983 from a 'large on-line, authorized dealer' and it's DOA. The power LED turns on, but no output, 0.00Vac. If the breaker is tripped, it cannot be reset. I see a quick blip on my meter during power on, and then nothing. I have another PH180, which shows about a 19Vac no-load. SE PA's LHS's are non-essential and closed, so I took a chance with an authorized, online dealer.
The dealer said my only recourse for out-of-box DOA is to ship it to Lionel, and so far is resisting a swap (they have stock). Is this a typical policy for on-line dealers? Obviously, it wasn't tested before shipping. Also, searching the forums, I see Lionel once offered free warranty shipping for veterans. Does anyone know if that policy is still honored?
Thanks,
Dennis
